This is a proposal for a new global money system, based upon the principles of money as explained by Bernard Lietaer, one of the architects of the Euro. Dr. Lietaer's principles are introduced in the Soul of Money presentation which you can find in this section of the forum, and I recommend that you view that presentation before you read the presentation. A basic familiarity with Bitcoin would also be useful for this understanding, and I will post some recommended introductory Bitcoin links.

This is from the introduction to the proposal:

I am proposing the creation of a global alternative money system which includes all of the 5 archetypes suggested in Lietaer’s work--the existing yang archetypes, along with the neglected yin archetypes that are addressed by the local complementary currencies. This system would interface with and support existing local currencies, as well as provide a sophisticated local currency system wherever desired. It would make it possible for local currencies to interface with national currencies. It would have the benefits of the new cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, including autonomy, decentralization and low cost exchanges. It would also include a trade reference currency which would tend to level out business cycle instability, decrease the cost of doing business, and work against inflation.
